Letters about the sexual violence investigation at U-Va.

This correspondence shows friction behind the scenes as the federal government neared the end of a four-year investigation into the University of Virginia's handling of sexual violence issues. Shown are letters from Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D); U.S. Sens. Mark R. Warner and Timothy M. Kaine, Democrats from Virginia; U-Va. President Teresa A. Sullivan; and Catherine E. Lhamon, assistant secretary for civil rights at the U.S. Education Department. The federal agency provided the letters in response to a request from The Washington Post.
