A history of GM's ignition problems
General Motors knew about problems with the ignition of 1.6 million compact cars for more than 10 years before the company issued a recall on Feb. 13. Faulty ignition switches have been linked to 31 crashes and 13 deaths. The recall involves Chevrolet Cobalt, Saturn Ions, Chevrolet HHRs, Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky cars made until 2007.
