Double Take: Mona Lisa
Did the Italian Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci paint two different versions of the Mona Lisa? According to the members of the Mona Lisa Foundation, a Zurich-based nonprofit organization, he did. The foundation unveiled the “Earlier Version,” as the painting is known in academic circles, along with historical and scientific evidence. The “Earlier Version” is purported to have been painted 10 years earlier than the portrait that hangs in the Louvre Museum in Paris. Slide the bar across the images to compare:
