A quick look at wheelchair racing

Wheelchair racing is not simply running on wheels. Runners get slower as distances increase; elite wheelchair athletes take longer to get up to speed, but then they can hold a fast pace. As in running, most wheelchair competitors specialize in short or long races, but Paralympic superstar Tatyana McFadden excels at both.
