The Purple Line in this area would run just outside of the CSX rail corridor, with a station platform that would cause the Spring Center shopping center, home to 20 businesses, to be displaced. In addition, 12 residential units at the Falkland Chase Apartments would be affected.
The Purple Line would run on the south side of Riverdale Road, west of Baltimore-Washington Parkway, causing the displacement of 22 residential properties. Some roads that feed into Riverdale Road would be cut off, forcing new traffic patterns in the neighborhood.
