Few students attend home middle school
This map shows 29 D.C. middle schools and the portion of public school students who lived in each school’s attendance area and attended the school last year. Overall, only 24 percent of the students attended their home middle schools. The rest went to traditional public or public charter schools. Read related article.
Notes: Schools include stand-alone middle schools and pre-K-8 education campuses. Percentages are for the 2012-13 school year and reflect middle school grades only. MacFarland Middle and Ron Brown Middle have closed. Francis-Stevens is now known as School Without Walls at Francis-Stevens. Langley will lose grades 6-8 for fall 2014. Shaw Middle has moved to Cardozo.
