School of Science and Technology is a comprehensive four year college preparatory public charter high school located in San Antonio, Texas. Its mission is to provide an academically rigorous college preparatory program, in partnership with students, families, and the community, and guide all students in gaining knowledge, skills, and the attitude necessary to direct their lives, improve a diverse society, and excel in a changing world by providing dynamic, resource-rich learning environments. The school was opened in the fall of 2005 and has graduated its first senior class in the spring of 2010 with 15 students, its second senior class in the spring of 2011 with 27 students, its third graduating class of 2012 with 38 students and the fourth graduating class of 2013 with 45 students. School of Science and Technology is accredited by Texas Education Agency and enroll its students through a lottery process. SST was ranked top 5th Middle School in 2009 and top 3rd High School in 2012 of the Greater San Antonio Area by Children at Risk program. Also US News has announced that SST received a Bronze National Rank among all high schools in the U.S for 2012 school year and a Silver National Rank among all high schools in the U.S for 2013. SST was ranked top 65th high school in the state of Texas by Washington Post Challenging High School List in 2013. Also Newsweek ranked SST High # 261 as America’s Best High School in 2013. SST is T.E.A. T-STEM designated campus since 2012 up to now. A strong emphasis is placed on mathematics, science, and computer applications in our campuses. An exceptionally high quality education is being delivered to nearly 2000 students in grades K through 12 on all four SST campuses in San Antonio and Corpus Christy throughout Texas. The school operates on a two-semester system with nine weeks-period quarter time. About 250 high school students attend School of Science and Technology-High School, taught by 42 credentialed faculty members.
