Coventry Health Care
Coventry provides health care products and services, including group and individual health insurance, Medicare and Medicaid programs, and workers’ compensation services to more than 5 million members in the United States. In October, the company agreed to buy Children’s Mercy Family Health Partners, a Medicaid health plan that has annual revenue of more than $450 million and is operated by Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. The transaction, expected to be completed in the first quarter, will bring in about 210,000 members in Kansas and Missouri.
