DiamondRock Hospitality
This real estate investment trust, with 26 hotels and resorts tucked into its portfolio, pruned its holdings in October with the $262.5 million sale of three hotels to affiliates of Inland American. The deal improved DiamondRock’s revenue per available room — a key financial metric — by $5. In two separate transactions in May, the company picked up the 712-room Radisson Lexington Hotel in New York City for $335 million and a 196-room J.W. Marriott in Denver for $72.6 million.
Trivia
Three out of four of DiamondRock’s top executives held senior positions at Marriott International at some point in their careers.
